Alice A. Rees, 83, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 4, 2024 at her home.  Alice was a lifelong resident of Liverpool, was a graduate of Liverpool High School, Class of '58, and attended Oneonta College.  She worked for the Town of Salina for the past 44 years.  There she worked as a Deputy Comptroller, worked in Planning and Development, Parks & Recreation, and for the past 8 years she was the school crossing guard on Longbranch Road.  Alice was very active in the community.  She was an accomplished bowler, member of the Syracuse Women's Bowling Association. She was a member of the Town of Salina Seniors, enjoyed playing softball, avid Boston Red Sox fan and SU Fan. Alice enjoyed camping, traveling and spending summers in Cape Cod.  She loved animals, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Anna Rees.

Alice is survived by her brother, Peter Rees (Lois Ayer), niece, Kelly (Phil) Nash, great nieces; Jessica, Gianna and Olivia Yates, several cousins and her beloved Shih tzu, Gemma.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088 followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 pm. Alice will be laid to rest in the Richfield Springs Cemetery with the rest of her family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Alice's memory to the Central New York SPCA, 5878 East Molloy Road, Syracuse, NY 13211.
