Allen J. Emm, Sr., 84, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away on Friday at the Syracuse VA Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, NY the son of the late Arthur J. and Elsie Emm. Al grew up in Baldwinsville, NY and attended C.W. Baker High School, Class of 1958. He was a talented athlete in many sports, especially baseball. In 2016, along with his son Art, they were inducted together into the Baldwinsville Baseball Hall of Fame. After graduating, he enlisted in the US Air Force proudly serving his country. On November 26, 1966 he was united in marriage to the former Shirley E. Pratt, a blessed union of 57 years. Al enjoyed a life-long career as a Truck Driver working for many local companies, traveling in the Northeast. His hard work ethic earned him respect not only at work but at home. He was the "Rock" of the Emm family, always helping anyone is need and could fix anything. Al had a great sense of humor and was always supporting his children throughout sports and life. He was a member of the Teamsters Local # 317 and the Seneca River Fire Department. Al is predeceased by his three sisters; Catherine Rummerfield, Noma Schlacter and Sharon Wentworth.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley E. Emm, his children; Jeff Kent, Darlene (Duane Bort) Emm, Art (Nia) Emm, AJ (Colleen) Emm, Jr. and Daryl Emm, his sister, Gladys Abbott, seven grandchildren affectionately known as; Jabber, Bambi, Mik, Spike, Whip, Ace and Sassy, eight great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Al's life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the American Legion, 8529 Smokey Hollow Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
