Obituary

Allene M. Ayling, 91, of Liverpool died peacefully at home on Friday, after a recent illness. Born and raised in Syracuse, she attended Syracuse University receiving her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Music Education. Allene lived an active life filled with music and devotion to her family. She taught general music at Roxboro Middle School and accompanied their chorus. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Syracuse, singing in their choir and playing piano. Allene also sang with the Syracuse Oratorio Choir and enjoyed going to plays and operas. After her retirement, she was active in the leadership of the NYS Retired Teachers and SU Alumni Associations. In addition to her love of music and spending time with family at Otisco Lake, Allene enjoyed reunions and traveling with family. She is predeceased by her husband, Donald C. Ayling, Sr. and her parents, Francis and Frances (Fuller) Pearson.

She is survived by her children; Donald Jr. (Roberta), Joyce, Carolyn, and William (Patricia) Ayling, two granddaughters, Katherine (Justin) Peece and Sarah Ayling, two great-granddaughters, her sister, Virginia (Frank) Henderson, several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. 300 Second St. Liverpool with funeral services to follow at 5:00 pm. Private burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse.
