Alyssa A. Smith, 36, of Clay, NY passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023, in the arms of her loving family. She was born to parents Paul and Barbara Smith on June 24, 1987 in Ellsworth, ME. To her friends and family Alyssa was known as Lyssa Lou with her unforgettable smile, laugh and sassy personality. She was drawn to the thrill of motorized vehicles, whether it be riding a snowmobile in freezing temperatures or a casual golf cart ride, she always had a smile on her face. Alyssa was animal lover and enjoyed many years of volunteering to give back to the community and participation in the ARISE Horseback riding. She was an avid lover of music, Alyssa was known to serenade anyone around her vocally or with her favorite instrument, the piano. One of Alyssa's most admired roles in her life was being an aunt to her many nieces and nephew.

Alyssa is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Florabelle and Walter Ford and paternal grandfather, Richard Smith. Surviving to cherish Alyssa's memory are her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Nicole, her brother and sister-in-law, Brett and Megan, her beloved nieces and nephews, Sophia, Stella, Ripley and Raegan, her grandmother, Virgina Smith and many aunts' uncles and cousins. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

We are grateful for the light she provided in our lives, her lessons of strength, perseverance and bravery that Alyssa taught anyone who was fortunate enough to know her. A world without Alyssa is hard to imagine, but the world is a better place because she was in it. Alyssa's family would like to extend a special thanks to her many mentors who provided exceptional care over the years.

Calling hours will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a service to follow at 7:00 pm at Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Route 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
