Amy Lynn
Speach
September 26, 1955 – December 11, 2023
Amy Lynn Speach, of Liverpool, entered into eternal life December 11, 2023. She was born September 26, 1955 to Arthur Speach and Barbara Marshall Speach Webster who, along with her brother Michael Speach, predeceased her. A graduate of SUNY Geneseo, she earned an MFA in creative writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.
Surviving to hold Amy's memory in their loving hearts are her sister, Beth (Brian) Wanzer, of Venice, FL; children: Nicholas (Victoria) Shires, of Baldwinsville; Susan (Erik) Johnson, of Oneonta, and Julie (Dylan) Tredway, of Readsboro, VT. She is also survived by five beloved grandsons: Owen and Parker Shires, Cullen and Wesley Johnson, and Henry Tredway; aunt, Sharon (Steve) Kirkby of West Palm Beach, FL, and cherished nieces and nephews.
Deeply spiritual, Amy found solace and direction for her life through A Course in Miracles, engaging in personal study and teaching the tenets of the course to others. She embodied the values of love, truth, joy and forgiveness – qualities that she lavished upon her family, friends, coworkers, and children at the Northminster Early Childhood Center, where she worked as an assistant teacher. She previously worked as a writer and editor in publications at Syracuse University and as a columnist for the Liverpool-Salina Review.
Amy found delight in simple things: long walks along Onondaga Lake, good coffee, sunsets at Lake Ontario, well written books, and Hallmark movies. She was a long-time member of the Liverpool Community Chorus.
