Andrew L.
Pelletier
March 4, 1967 – September 27, 2023
Andrew Louis Pelletier passed away peacefully at Crouse Hospital on September 27, 2023 with his family by his side after a hard-fought battle against cancer.
Drew was born on March 4,1967 in Fort Kent, Maine. He spent his childhood days helping out on the family farm, spending time with his father and siblings, and exploring the woods with friends and neighbors. Drew was the youngest of seven children and thoroughly enjoyed his large family, always looking forward to the holidays and times when his siblings and their own growing families came home to gather. He admired and cherished his six older siblings who looked over and protected him throughout many phases of his life.
Drew attended Fort Kent High School where he graduated as Valedictorian of his class. He went on to attend the University of Maine at Orono, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, serving as President during his senior year. His fraternity brothers were like family to Drew and were a tremendous source of strength for him in the final months of his battle with cancer. Drew graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering and always remained a scientist and engineer at heart. His personable demeanor and enjoyment in building connections led him on a career path in sales at Nalco Chemical and then Boston Scientific, where he met some of his dearest friends.
Drew's love for his wife and children was evident to all who knew him. His most joyous moments were spent engaging in the active life he was blessed to have had with his family. He loved to spend time with his family skiing, hiking, and running. He enjoyed traveling with his family and had the opportunity to go on many trips exploring different places. Drew was incredibly proud of his children and cherished every moment with them, cheering them on and encouraging their individuality. He was always bringing laughter and joy to his family and was the most supportive husband and father.
Drew loved spending summer days on the lake at the family camp, making sure that every niece, nephew and friend was able to enjoy a tube ride and a s'more. He could be found by the lake drinking coffee first thing in the morning and tending to the campfire late at night. He was creative and had a knack for construction, always coming up with a new project.
Drew was one of the genuine good guys in this world. He greeted everyone he met with a warm smile, found connections and always took care of others first. Drew touched so many lives and will be remembered for his calm demeanor, intelligence, sharp wit and always being the voice of reason for family, friends and colleagues.
Drew is predeceased by his parents, Real and Marthe, brother-in-law, Michael "Ben" Hogan, and nephews, Jeffrey Pelletier and Matthew Pelletier.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Johonna and children; Alexandra, Ryan and Nicole. He also leaves behind his siblings; Claude (Deana) Pelletier, Maurice (Gail) Pelletier, Louise Pelletier, Jacqueline (Bruce) Pelletier, Bernadette (Jeff) Seifert, Leon (Jean) Pelletier and siblings-in-law; Rachel (Michael) Stead, Christina (Eric) Hall and Andrea Coriale. Drew also leaves behind his mother-in-law Francess Brewer with whom he shared many laughs and 27 nieces and nephews that he loved with all of his heart.
Special thank you to Dr. Brian Poligone, the entire Hematology Oncology Associates of CNY staff and the Crouse Hospital nursing team.
