Anita B.
Boyce
December 3, 1939 – January 15, 2023
Anita Boyce, 83, of Liverpool, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 15, 2023. Born in Schenectady, NY, Anita was the daughter of German immigrants, George and Molly Bernhard. She graduated from SUNY Farmingdale as a dental hygienist. While married to Norman Boyce, Anita spent her early career in Miami, FL, Eureka, CA, and Raleigh, NC, finally settling in Central New York where she retired after many years in orthodontics with doctors Drake and Raineri.
Anita was a longtime member of United Church of Christ in Bayberry: active in the Women's Fellowship, Food Pantry, and served as a Deacon. She competed with Syracuse Chargers Masters Rowing, was a passionate yoga and fitness practitioner, enjoyed music, concerts, Syracuse basketball at Sharkey's, anything outdoors (even yardwork!), cooking, baking, and hosting game nights. Anita spent many cherished summers with friends on "Scotia Island" up at "the River." She traveled frequently to see family and friends in Maine, North Carolina, England, Holland and Germany; she even trekked the Guatemalan rainforest and jungle. Most of all, Anita was a proud mother and grandmother: watching her grandkids play sports, sharing meals, family travel, helping run errands, and dog walking/care.
Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer B. (Lewis) McCaffrey, and son, Jason A. Boyce (Lori Jackson), grandchildren: Peter and Andrew McCaffrey and Adelaide and Genevieve Boyce all of Marcellus, NY, sister, Hilda Johnstone of Raleigh, NC, and brother, Ronald Bernhard of Voorheesville, NY, nieces and nephews in NY, NH and NC.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 2:00 pm at United Church of Christ in Bayberry, 215 Blackberry Road, Liverpool, NY 13090.
