Obituary

Anne Elizabeth (Morgan) Hesler, 90, of Liverpool passed away unexpectedly on Saturday. She was born in Ogdensburg, NY a daughter of the late John and Grace (Halpin) Morgan. Anne grew up in Potsdam, NY attended Potsdam High School. She continued her education at New York State Teacher's College at Potsdam, obtaining her Bachelor's degree in education. After graduating, she started teaching school in Massena, NY, then in Rochester, NY, prior to moving to Liverpool. Anne finished her career as a school teacher at Chestnut Hill Elementary. In 1958, she was united in marriage to Joseph Patrick Hesler, a blessed union of 55 years. They started their family, raising six children, residing in Liverpool for the past 57 years. Anne will be remembered as a loving and caring mother with a keen wit and impeccable timing. She had a strong constitution and an encyclopedic knowledge of names, birthdays and events. Anne kept up on current events and enjoyed watching David Muir deliver the nightly news.

Anne was also a devout Catholic with unwavering faith. Not only a founding member, she was very active in many ministries at Christ the King Church, serving on the Altar Committee. She was a member of Beaver Meadows Golf & Country Club and The Bayberry Bridge Club.  Anne loved to read, watch Syracuse University sports and travel. She supported many charitable causes and volunteered for North Area Meals on Wheels. Anne was a life-long, loyal friend to all of her Bayberry neighbors. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph in 2013, four sisters; Virginia Gilligan, Mary Nemeyer, Charlotte LaMar, Eleanor Hannan and two brothers, Frank and Jack "John" Morgan.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children; Grace Anne McClure of Northford, CT, Mary Elizabeth Hesler of Oswego, NY, Christopher Hesler of Minneapolis, MN, Patrick Hesler of Ramsey, NJ, John Hesler (Cindi Byrne) of Liverpool, NY, Mark (Sandy) Hesler of Fayetteville, NY, 9 grandchildren, two sisters-in-law; Molly Morgan of Potsdam, NY, Diann Morgan of LaJolla, CA and dozens of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Anne's care givers who provided so much comfort, companionship and assistance to Anne over the past several years; Cindy, Theresa, Jan, Zoe, Marnie, Kristy and Heather.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. 300 Second St. Liverpool, NY 13088. Funeral services will be held at 11:15 am at the funeral home and 12:00 pm in Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, Liverpool, NY 13090 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Baldwinsville, NY.
