Autumn E.
Thomas
August 13, 1982 – January 12, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Autumn E. Thomas, who left us on January 12, 2025, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her devoted life partner, Christopher Nichols, at the age of 42. Born on August 13, 1982, in Syracuse, NY, Autumn grew up in Phoenix, NY, and attended John C. Birdlebough High School. She was a kind-hearted and driven person whose kind and giving spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
After graduating high school, she joined her Uncle Jerry's business, Great Outdoors RV, where she climbed the ladder from vending machine stocker, receptionist, parts specialist, to DMV/Title Clerk, contributing her talents with the same dedication and love she brought to all areas of her life. Autumn finished her professional career at the Oswego County DMV before leaving to focus on her health.
Autumn's love for her family was boundless. She was a loving daughter to Walter S. Thomas and Lynda (Fitzpatrick) Thomas, and a caring partner to Christopher Nichols. Her daughters, Chloe Thomas and Lacey Goodman, were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Autumn loved to take her daughters on adventures, whether it was exploring new places or enjoying the simple pleasures of shopping together. She instilled in them a deep sense of courage and strength, even throughout her most challenging days.
Autumn also shared a loving connection with her siblings; Ericka Thomas Bluhm (and husband Chad), and Crystal Thomas (and partner Scott Demont). She is also survived by her sisters, Lorie Thomas (Mark West) and April Thomas Barrington (Gerald Barrington).
She held a special bond with her Uncle Jerry, affectionately known as "UJ", as well as with her aunts Pam and Barb, who provided constant love and support throughout her life.
Autumn had a passion for fashion and took great joy in coordinating her outfits, shoes, accessories, hair, and makeup. Every detail mattered to her, and she always had the perfect outfit for any occasion. Her keen sense of style was just one of the many ways she expressed her vibrant personality. Her warmth, and genuine kindness radiated to all who knew her. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel important. She will be remembered for her endless love for her daughters and her generous heart.
Autumn had a love for Disney World, often traveling to Florida where she enjoyed many wonderful vacations with her family. She also appreciated music and enjoyed the experience of attending concerts with her family and friends. Autumn will always be remembered as someone who embraced life.
She is survived by her loving parents, children, husband, siblings, and many aunts, uncles, and friends who will carry her memory with them always. Her legacy of kindness, love, and generosity will live on in all of us.
Autumn's life partner, Christopher and her family would like to express their gratitude to her medical teams at both Upstate Cancer Center and Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Throughout her time in care, the doctors and nurses at both hospitals became more than just healthcare provider, they became friends. Autumn's warm and kind personality touched their hearts, and they consistently went above and beyond to provide her with exceptional care. We are deeply grateful for their unwavering dedication and continuous compassion.
Autumn's light will continue to shine in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, Autumn, knowing you are deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
