Obituary

Barbara Ann (Mullen) Dehm of Liverpool, NY passed away on January 23, 2025 at the age of 78 after a long illness. Barbara was born on a summer's day in Oswego, NY to George and Kathryn (Sanford) Mullen. Barbara was a vibrant soul that was full of life, joy, opinions and strength. She was always up for a good political discussion and had an excellent mind for finance both personally and professionally. Barbara graduated from Oswego High School and began her career at Oswego City Savings Bank as a bank teller, a job that she thoroughly loved. From there she went on to work for Syracuse City Savings Bank, Seneca Federal, and eventually M&T Bank for 20 years.

Barbara was a parishioner of Pope John Paul XXIII in Liverpool for close to 50 years and lived in Parkside North in Liverpool for 50 years, both communities in which she found many wonderful friends and made lifelong memories.  Barbara was also a prolific bowler averaging over 600 and loved to play in a bowling league with her friends from the neighborhood when she was younger.  She worked hard at anything she ever tried to do and was someone you would want on your side or on your team. She was funny without trying and was an endless source of comedy for those who knew her well.  More than anything, Barbara's love and devotion to her family was her greatest achievement.

Barbara was married for 50 years to love of her life, Charles, who often stated that life with her was an adventure! Barbara never dreamed of missing any important event in her children's lives and was their biggest cheerleader, no matter what.  She was their constant, their rock, their fiercest protector and their hero. She will be deeply missed by her husband, her children and her grandchildren every day.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband and constant companion, Charles J Dehm III of Liverpool, NY, her son, Patrick (Aimee) Dehm of Baldwinsville, NY, her daughter, Katie (Adam) Smith of West Irondequoit, NY, her brother, Thomas (Marie) Mullen of Albany, NY, her twin sister, Beverly (Charles) Taber of Penfield, NY, her sister, Kathleen (Kent) Leipold of Austin, TX, her 4 grandchildren; Griffen and Cameron Dehm and Sawyer and Charlotte Smith and many nieces and nephews.
