Byron Andre Nilsson, 97, of Liverpool, New York passed away on Monday at Menorah Park Nursing Home. He was born in Manhattan, NY, son of Hans and Nelly (Anderson) Nilsen. Byron attended Columbia University, receiving his Mechanical Engineering Degree. He proudly served as a Lieutenant in the U. S. Navy on the USS Leyte during the Korean War. Byron enjoyed a career in the Bearing Industry. He started in the 1960's with Norma-Hoffman Bearing Company as a Manager and in the 1970's as Chief Engineer for Rollway Bearing in Liverpool, NY.  He was a member of the crew team at Columbia University, the Syracuse Art Guild, Sons of Norway, U.S. Sail & Power Squadron and involved with Kirk Players in Illinois.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Sari W. (Williams) Nilsson of Liverpool, NY; his daughter, Jennifer Nilsson of Rolling Meadows, IL; his son, Byron A. Nilsson, Jr. of Fultonville, NY and granddaughter, Lily Whiteman.
