August 8, 1945 – June 8, 2023
Carol A. (Jasinski) DiStefano, 77, of North Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday at home. She was born and raised in Buffalo, NY a daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Nowatarski) Jasinski. Prior to coming to the Syracuse area in 1978, Carol worked in Buffalo for General Motors. Once in Syracuse, she started her career in the Healthcare Industry. Carol was employed as a Medical Assistant for over 20 years for Upstate University Hospital, retiring in 2010. She was Past President of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Pulaski Post # 358. Carol was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time in her garden. She loved to travel, crocheting, sewing and most recently quilting. Carol volunteered for many area charities, especially food pantries. Most of all, Carol loved raising her family and spending time together.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her five beloved children; Peter (Trish) DiStefano of Marcellus, NY, Lisa (Alex) DiStefano-Bauer of Pittsburgh, PA, Derek (Wendy) DiStefano of Salisbury, NC, MaryAnne (Ben) Lesperance of Camillus, NY, Jon (Margaret) DiStefano of Liverpool, NY, 7 grandchildren; Alexandra, Nicholas, Holly, Lillian, Benjamin, Eliza, Reece, and her sister, Sister Jolene Jasinski, CSSF of Buffalo, NY.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 10:00 am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 1 West Main Street, Marcellus, NY 13108. The Rite of Committal and burial will be held at a future date in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Buffalo, NY.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the Assumption Church Food Pantry, 264 E. Onondaga St. Syracuse, NY 13202.
