Carol (Dwyer) Stearns, 84, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Crouse Hospital. Carol was born and raised in Rochester, NY, the daughter of the late Leo F. and Mayfield (Costello) Dwyer. She attended Allendale Columbia School and completed her education receiving her Bachelor of Science from Wheaton College in Norton, MA. Carol worked at the Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceutical Company, where she was instrumental in setting up the flow cytometry laboratory and confocal microscopy. As the Manager of the lab, she established protocols and guidelines for sample submission and virtually all immunology labs relied on her expertise for sample analysis.

Carol belonged to the Genesee Valley Chapter of the BMW Club of America and had a passion for racing. She was an avid Formula 1, INDY and IMSA racing fan. Carol crossed borders and traveled overseas, as well as to racetracks in the US. She loved driving schools and drove at Lime Rock Park and Watkins Glen International. Carol is predeceased by her husband of over thirty-five years, David G. Stearns and her brother, William F. Dwyer II.

Carol is survived by her sister, Anne D. Colgan; sisters-in-law, Annabel Stehli and Connie Dwyer; nephews, Geoffrey C. Dwyer, Scott Dwyer, Will Dwyer and Mark Stehli; and nieces, Elizabeth "Betsi" Sellers, Christine C. Elliott, Cynthia M. Colgan and Sarah Howell.

A private Graveside service will be held at a later date at White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford, NY.
