May 22, 1946 – July 31, 2022
Carole (Anderson) Callender, 76 of Liverpool passed away on Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, Carole has been a resident of Liverpool for the past 45 years. She completed her education at Syracuse University obtaining her Master's in Special Education. Carole enjoyed a 35-year career in Education. She retired in 2012 from Phoenix Central School District as a Special Education Teacher and also worked at North Syracuse Central School District in their Early Education Program. She was Past Beloved Queen-Ilderim Temple # 15 Daughters of the Nile, was a member of both St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Liverpool and recently St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Baldwinsville and the Clay Senior Center.
Carole's main focus in life was her family. She loved watching her NY Yankees, SU Basketball and spending time on the St. Lawrence River. She was a mean card player and dedicated much of her life supporting the Shriner's Hospital. She is predeceased by her parents, Eric and Eleanor (Paknus) Anderson.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, LT. CMDR U.S. Navy (ret) Thomas (Tricia) Callender, IV of Edgewater, MD, her daughter, Kristin Filippi (William Arnold) of Liverpool, NY, six grandchildren; Erik Smith, Amanda (Jake) Watters, Anderson (Erin) Leclair, Madelyn (Dana) Leclair, Katy Ternovan, Analise Filippi, four great-grandchildren; Sophia, Jaxon, Magnolia, Oliver, her bonus family; Tamatha Rodenski-Callender, Michael (Erin) Gustke, Kyle Hazard, Antoine Garner and Phaite (Jordan) Bender-Boronka.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11:00 am in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 2840 Cold Springs Rd, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
Contributions in Carole's memory can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
