Catherine "Cathy" (Marcangelo) Graves, 76, of Liverpool, NY passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. She was born in the Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Antonio and Florence (Longo) Marcangelo. Cathy grew up in the Bronx, graduating from William H. Taft High School, Class of 1966. It was always her dream to get married and have a family. Little did she know, after writing her cousin, Kenneth Meehan, a U.S. Marine serving in Vietnam, that one of his fellow Marines would see her photo and soon become her pen pal. In 1967, she and her Marine, Jene Edward Graves, were united in marriage. They started their family soon after and shared a blessed union of 57 years on July 8, 2024. She was dedicated to her family, joyous and loving, and a follower of Jesus Christ.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Jene Edward Graves of Liverpool, NY, two sons, Chris (Kelly) Graves of Troy, OH, Thomas (Karen) Graves of King City, OR, her daughter, Cathy (Rich) Jarrett of Liverpool, NY, five grandchildren; Garrett and Mikayla Graves, Matthew Graves, and Leah and Evan Jarrett, her brother, John (Judy) Marcangelo of Arlington, TX, a niece and a nephew.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with burial to follow in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
