Catherine M.
Morawski
May 21, 1943 – June 8, 2022
Catherine "Cathy" (Haughton) Morawski of Baldwinsville and Liverpool, New York and formerly of Northbridge, MA and Albany, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and five children after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Cathy was born in Philadelphia, PA to parents Stephen and Kathryn (Graham) Haughton. She met the love of her life and husband of 53 years, John Morawski, on a double-blind date while he was stationed in Philadelphia during his service in the Navy. Cathy and John married on November 16, 1968, and they are the proud parents of five children: Kathryn (Christian) Stomsvik, Joseph (Alaina) Morawski, Helen "Connie" (David) Cullinan, John (Deanna) Morawski and Jane (Robert) Schur.
Cathy had a smile that would light up a room and she was never one to shy away from her emotions. She laughed hard and she cried hard. She embraced people for who they were, and the friendships she enjoyed spanned her lifetime. Cathy worked many different jobs throughout her life and ultimately became a successful realtor. However, her true passion was raising her five children and celebrating their many accomplishments. She loved and cherished her eleven grandchildren and the time she spent with them. Gatherings among family and friends meant the world to her and she loved impromptu and surprise get togethers.
Cathy was a devout Catholic and an active member in many church communities. She started a Women's Support Group at Christ the King Church in Liverpool, served as President of the Parent's Organization at Our Lady of Pompeii and was a greeter at St. Patrick's Church in Northbridge, MA.
Cathy was predeceased by her parents and brother, James Haughton.
She is survived by her husband; five children; eleven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Daniel, Stephen, Aiden, Isabella, John, Evan, Robert, Luke, Chester "Chet", and Joshua; sisters, Nancy (Leo) Maynes and Sr. Constance Haughton; brothers, Stephen Haughton and John "Pat" (Blanche) Haughton; sister-in-law Anne Haughton, and her 20 nieces and nephews.
