Charles A. McCarthy, 86, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away at home on Monday, after a brief, heroic struggle with cancer.  Born in Cortland, NY to the late Vera and Justin McCarthy, he attended Cortland schools and graduated from Utica College. Charles began his business career at Dey Brothers, continued at Lamson Corporation, and then became Vice President of Sales & Marketing at the former Syroco Company in Baldwinsville, until he retired.

Chuck was an avid golfer and treasured time with his buddies on the Radisson course or with the Camelot East League in Sarasota, Florida, his winter home. He enjoyed many European trips and was a devoted Yankees and SU fan.  He loved having Sunday family dinners and cherished spending time with his grandkids, who adored him.  Chuck was predeceased by his former wives, Rita Mullen and Pamela McFarland, his son, Daniel McCarthy, and his stepson, Mark Stanley.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Cicily (Sorbello) McCarthy, his son Michael McCarthy, daughter Kara Cohen, stepchildren: Richard Stanley, Susan (Mark) Mende, Christine (Paul Stevens) Stanley, grandchildren: Jesse and Jamie Cohen, Kelsie (Justin Shutt) and Megan Stanley, Eric (Meta) Mende and Matthew Mende, Emily and Sam Nessel, Kayleigh and Zachary Stevens, and Yolanda Russo, brother Justin "Jud" McCarthy and several nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 3494 State Rt 31, Baldwinsville, NY.  The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.

Donations in Charles' honor may be made to Hospice of Central NY, American Cancer Association, or St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
