Charles B. Richardson, Jr., 78, of Fulton, passed away on Tuesday after a battle with cancer. Charles was born in Syracuse and was a firefighter with the City of Syracuse, retiring after 35 years of service. He was the recipient of the Arthur Jenkins award in 1966 for saving lives. Charles was a loving family man and his favorite enjoyment was his children, camping, and fishing. He was predeceased by his son, Jonathan Matthew Richardson and his daughter, Dolores Sharon Richardson. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Arlene Simson Richardson of Fulton; daughters, Suzanne (Greg) Spencer; Rebecca (Tom) Koagel; sons, Charles III (Margaret) Richardson; Brian (Pepper) Richardson; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; and his sister, Martha (Donald) Sparkes. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Maurer Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 300 Second St. in Liverpool.
