Obituary

Cheryl Anne Therese (Brothers) Arnold, 72, of Clay, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. She was born in Queens, NY on March 25, 1954. Like her brother Richard and sister Michele, she grew up in Flushing, NY in a neighborhood filled with children who have continued to be friends.

Her mother, Louisette (LeRoy) Brothers was born in a small farm village in France and her father Richard Pierce Brothers, in NY. Like her siblings, Cheryl spoke French and often went to France to her uncle’s farm. Her love of nature and animals was surely borne there.

Cheryl chose to pursue studies in environment at the School of Forestry at Syracuse University. One of Cheryl’s most important experiences was transporting bone marrow for the Red Cross, giving her opportunities to travel to many places around the world. Cheryl was very smart and intellectually curious. Much of her free time was spent reading. She was much loved and appreciated by family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, David, sister, Michele Brothers, brother, Richard (Cathy) Brothers, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The Rite of Committal and entombment will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cheryl's memory can be made to Heifer International, 1 World Ave., Little Rock AR 72202
