October 19, 1944 – July 13, 2022
Christopher E. Smallman, 77, of Liverpool passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Chris was born on October 19, 1944 in Syracuse, NY. He was drafted into the US Army in 1966 and served in Vietnam until 1968. He was a graduate of Lemoyne College receiving his Bachelor's degree in 1994. He worked in the finance, payroll and benefits department at WCNY Television for 22 years. He later went on to work for the Catholic Diocese of CNY for 3 years. Chris loved spending time with his family and friends. No matter where he went, he had the ability to make friends with everyone he came in contact with. He loved camping, scanners and napping. He was an avid supporter of the Liverpool High School Marching Band Boosters. Chris was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Liverpool, and also served as a Warden for the church. Christopher is predeceased by his parents, William and Leona Smallman, a brother, William, Jr., 2 sisters; Shirley Conlin and Emma Wallace-Bryerton.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Margaret A. (Savage) Smallman, son Christopher D. (Lori) Smallman, daughter, Jennifer L. (Ted) Hanousek, 3 grandchildren; Christopher M. (Mikayla) Webster, Jacob M. Smallman and Justin D. Smallman. 2 Great-grandchildren; Payten and Grayson, and 2 nieces; Emily Sweeting and Sharon Malbone.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 11:00 am -1:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. 300 Second St. Liverpool, NY 13088 with a Funeral services to follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
