Daniel E. Reed, of Memphis, NY, a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the age of 67.

Born in Canandaigua, NY, Daniel was the son of the late Edward and Marion (Converse) Reed. Dan grew up in the Finger Lakes Region in NY and graduated from Baker High School in Baldwinsville, NY. Daniel furthered his education earning his Bachelor of Engineering from SUNY Canton. In 1980 Daniel married Pamela L. Geiger and they shared 44 joyful years together until her passing earlier this month.

Daniel's professional career spanned several companies, culminating in his retirement as a Sales Manager from Master Meter, Inc. in Mansfield, TX. He was also an active member in New York Rural Water Association and New York American Water Works Association.

In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, spending time on a lake in his antique Chris Craft boat and watching the Buffalo Bills not win a Super Bowl. Known for his selfless nature, quick wit, and storytelling abilities, He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are two daughters, Danielle (Ryan) Smith of Holly Ridge, NC, Molly Reed (Alex Fletcher) of Weedsport, NY, two grandchildren, Savannah Smith and Carson Smith, his brother, Steven (Deb) Reed of Ft. Myers, FL, several nieces, nephews and his granddog, Maxine. He is predeceased by his sister Janis Carnegie.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville, NY, with funeral services to follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place privately in Riverview Cemetery, Clifton Springs, NY.
