David "Dave" L. Buttolph, 79, of Liverpool, NY passed away last Saturday at Menorah Park, after a short illness. He was born in Lodi, Ohio to the late Laurence and Lois (McVicker) Buttolph. Dave graduated from Cloverleaf High School, Class of 1964 and completed his education at Ashland University, Class of 1968. After first crossing paths at college and teaching together at Cloverleaf High School, he was united in marriage to the former Mary Ann Muirhead on June 13, 1973. Coming from Lodi, Ohio, he was deeply proud of his hometown, referring to himself "as just a country boy from Ohio". He would frequently stop fellow shoppers wearing Ohio State apparel to ask if they lived in Ohio, attended college there, or were simply fans. Dave worked as an underwriter for Travelers Insurance in Syracuse, NY.

A passionate lover of nature, he often spent time at Beaver Lake Nature Center in Baldwinsville, where he was a proud member of the Friends of Beaver Lake and Santa at Christmas. Dave was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother and son. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Lois Ann Kolhoff and his brother, Russ Buttolph.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his beloved son, Steven L. (Jennifer M.) Buttolph, his adored favorite granddaughter, MaryAnn "Morgan" Buttolph, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will greet friends on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 331 Baldwinsville, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Dave's memory can be made to Friends of Beaver Lake, Inc. , 8477 E. Mud Lake Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
