J. Hachey
October 26, 1937 – October 16, 2025
Deacon Thomas Joseph Hachey, of North Syracuse passed away October 16, 2025 at Crouse Hospital. He was born in East Hartford, Connecticut, on October 26, 1937, one of eight children of Mary and Rudolph Hachey. He graduated from The Ward School of Electronics and went on to work as an Electronic Engineer at General Electric for 35 years, retiring in 1992. Tom was ordained as a Catholic Deacon in 1991 and served as a lifelong Deacon at Christ the King Church in Liverpool, NY. He was a Red Sox fan and an avid model railroader.
He is predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Carlyn Hachey.
Thomas is survived by three sons, Michael Hachey (Jacqueline Howland) of Guilderland, NY, Stephen Hachey (Julia) of Palm Harbor, FL and Patrick Hachey (Patricia) of Mallory, NY, a daughter, Mary Beth Hachey of Ocala, FL, Four grandchildren; Sean, Derek, and Shane Hachey and Kara Desantis. Six great-grandchildren; Emerson, Callen, Kai and Zuri Hachey and Sophia and Giada Desantis. Three siblings; Maureen Satchell, Sheila Toscano and Dennis Hachey.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm followed by a vigil service at 6:30 pm at Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, Liverpool, NY 13090. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 10:30 am at Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, Liverpool, NY 13090 with the Rite of Committal and Burial to follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas's memory may be made to the Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave, Syracuse, NY 13208.
