Debra "Deb" Dykes, 68, of Liverpool passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at Upstate University Hospital.  A Syracuse native, she was born to the late Richard H. and Veronica Depoe. After her graduation from ESM High School, Deb studied nursing at OCC, graduating with a BSN, and then worked as a registered nurse for 45 years.  She was first employed at Hutchings, then Upstate University Hospital, from which she retired in 2010.  Debra had resided in Liverpool for the past 22 years with her beloved husband of 21 years, James Dykes.

In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Men's & Woman's Garden Club.  Debra also enjoyed painting, nature and travel, especially trips to the Jersey shore with her family.  An avid animal lover, she could often be found volunteering for the Cat Coalition.  Deb will be remembered for her passion about the people, animals and hobbies she loved.

Deb will be greatly missed by her husband, James Dykes, of Liverpool; daughters, Heather Sette and Amy Dykes, both of Brick, NJ; grandchildren, Paris, Nicholas and Nola and brother, Richard Depoe, of Sylvan Beach.

All services will be private.
