Derek Ian Churchill, 79, of Baldwinsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY.  Derek was born on March 1, 1946 in England.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy from Aston University in Birmingham, England.  He retired from Novelis after 33 years of service where he was Vice President of Technology.

Derek thoroughly enjoyed his immense and extensive travels. He also enjoyed collecting mementos during his travels and experiencing all sorts of cultural cuisines.  Additionally, he loved getting to know his grandchildren and watching them grow.

He was predeceased by his parents, Dennis and Jean Churchill and a son, David Churchill.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Mair of Baldwinsville, his son, Gareth (Sheri) Churchill of Greenwood Village, CO, daughter, Kirsty (Clifford) Dann of Baldwinsville, and grandchildren; Chloe Churchill, Liam Dann, Ian Dann and Rhys Churchill.
