Obituary

Dianne Guertin, 82, of Liverpool, NY, in the company of family, sadly left us on her birthday, May 4, 2026. She passed enriched by the love shared by numerous visits from family and friends and comforted knowing she would rejoin her husband and departed friends and family in eternal rest.

Dianne was born in Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Scottish immigrants. She was a stubborn student, perhaps gazing out the classroom window at the adventures ahead, of which there were many. Her most audacious adventures were with her lifelong partner and husband, Ed Guertin. Shortly after marriage, and with two young children in tow, Dianne left the cosmopolitan trappings of Toronto, Ontario, to support Ed’s work in Moncton, New Brunswick. With a lengthy list of maritime memories and a trusted lobster pot, the now family of four children decided to relocate to Syracuse, New York.

Starting in 1983, Dianne and Ed built a successful family business in Syracuse. Guertin Distributors remains a top ranked distributorship in the foodservice industry providing national, local chain and independent operators with premium equipment and services. The family business continues under the stewardship of their children, Michelle and Richard Guertin.

Dianne worked hard to share the fruits of her success with her family. She loved cruising around the world, escorting family and friends on North American adventures in their RV, and spending time at the family cottage on Oneida Lake. She will be best remembered for her impeccable hospitality. Neither the neighborhood school fundraiser nor the banquet for our Canadian Clan rattled Dianne. The event was always a success, and the good China would be stowed for the next festivity.

Dianne’s legacy will be cherished by her children: Michelle (Kyle) Milk, Ian, Denise, Richard (Kristen), and devoted grandchildren, Autumn Maggi, Aubrey and Emmet Guertin, Owen and Nolan Romancik, and Delaney, Sydney, and Maddox Guertin, surviving sister, Frances (Ross Seymour), and her numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
