September 14, 1924 – July 31, 2022
Dino D. Paschetto, 97, of Liverpool, NY, passed away on Sunday at home. He was born in Manhattan, NYC, the son of the late Attilio and Clotilde (Avondet) Paschetto. Dino attended PS 82 grade school in Queens and graduated from Stuyvesant High School. He furthered his studies at NYU College of Engineering until his sophomore year, when he entered the US Navy. A WWII Veteran, Dino served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. After being discharged in 1946, he was united in marriage to the former Ida H. Cairus, a union of 65 years! Dino returned to NYU on the GI Bill, graduating in 1948 with his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and began work with IT&T in NJ. He worked in Syracuse for General Electric from 1953-1987. During his years with GE, Dino also worked in Italy servicing radars and In Mississippi working on the Apollo Program.
He was a faithful member of the United Church of Christ in Bayberry, the Liverpool VFW, and the American Legion Post #188, serving as past Commander and Adjutant Historian. In his retirement, Dino volunteered at the CNY Food Bank, Assessment Review Board, and was an Election Inspector. He is predeceased by his wife, Ida H. Paschetto in 2012 and his son, Warren D. Paschetto, Sr. in 2017.
Surviving are his two daughters; Lorraine P. (Michael) Bittel of Saratoga Springs, NY, Rosanna H. (David) Houlton of Fort Collins, CO, daughter-in-law, Jackie M. Paschetto of Baldwinsville, NY, seven grandchildren; Michael T. (Wendy) Bittel, Warren Paschetto, Jr., Kirsten Bittel Cleveland, Anne Marie Paschetto (Will) McCall, Megan Bittel Muñoz, Harrison (Bre) Houlton, and Sarah Houlton; 9 great-grandchildren, his God-daughter, Yolande (Mike Hairfield) Long; and several cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, from 4 - 6 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, at 11:00 am at the United Church of Christ in Bayberry, 215 Blackberry Road, Liverpool, NY 13090. Burial will take place in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, August 16, at 11:00 am.
