Donald E. Nickels, Sr., 92, of Liverpool passed away on Saturday at Francis House. Don was born in Syracuse and resided in Liverpool most of his life. He graduated from Liverpool High School and was a member of the LHS Athletic Hall of Fame. Don attended Syracuse University and SUNY Brockport. He was employed by GMAC for 12 years. After receiving his Real Estate Broker's License, he joined Longley-Jones Management as a member of their Property Managers Team, until his retirement. Don was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Liverpool. He is predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Marjorie, in 2016.

Don is survived by his nine children; Susan Kraushaar, Donald Jr. (Molly), Steven (Betty), Robert (Mara), Linda Mattiaccio, Deborah Foster, James, Jeffrey and Jonathan, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and his two sisters, Norma White and Margery McGuire.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. 300 Second St. Liverpool. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 10:00 am in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 210 Hazel St. Liverpool, NY 13088. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Warners, NY.
