Donald "Don" L. Roberts, 86, of Liverpool, New York, passed away at home with his family by his side on Thursday, July 13, 2023.  Don was born in Rock Island, Illinois, on August 25, 1936 to the late George and Lillian (Klever) Roberts. Don grew up in Rock Island, Illinois and attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois on an athletic scholarship, participating in varsity wrestling and track and field. After graduating in 1958, Don moved to the east coast and worked at Western Electric in Boston, and soon after moved to Liverpool, New York to work at General Electric as an engineer in defense systems. Don worked at General Electric, later Lockheed Martin, for over 40 years. He raised 5 children in Liverpool with his loving wife, Connie, of 53 years.

Don enjoyed bowling, handball, racquetball, fishing, camping, cooking, watching sports, growing prize winning vegetables for the NY State Fair, was handy around the house and with cars.  In his retirement, he started a business of buying and selling antiques and other collectibles and opened his own antique store in the village of Liverpool called, Sweet Lorain.

Don is survived by his beloved wife, Constance (Connie) L. (Sterling) Roberts of Liverpool, daughters; Laura (Greg) Garger, Marcia Ruggiero, and Susan Karsay, and sons, Jeffrey Roberts and Christopher Roberts, 8 grandchildren; Sydney, Shannon, Caroline, Katherine, Jonathan, Amanda, Alexandor and Zachary, and 2 great-grandchildren, Zen and Theo. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, James Roberts.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Monday, August 14, 2023 at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.  A funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm.
