Elaine M. (Wishman) Smith, 80, a former 70-year resident of Buffalo, NY, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Elderwood at Liverpool. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Elaine was a Hairstylist owning and operating her own salons in the Buffalo area for over 40 years. She balanced her successful career with being a devoted mother to her only child, Linda, whom she loved unconditionally. In her younger days, she was an avid golfer, competing in many leagues. Elaine had a kind and generous spirit, always concerned about everyone in her life. She and her daughter Linda enjoyed a close and enduring bond. Elaine adored her grandsons, spoiling them every opportunity she could. Elaine also loved animals, especially dogs, owning many large breeds. In 2018 she came to Liverpool to be closer to her daughter, whom she shared a very close bond. Elaine was a communicant of Pope John XXIII Catholic Church. She is predeceased by her husband, Francis Smith, two sisters, Joan Krockenberger and Joyce Bryce.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her devoted daughter, Linda M. (Thomas) Fensken of Liverpool, NY, her two grandsons, Jeffrey Fensken of Rochester, NY and Michael Fensken of Las Vegas, NV, a nephew, David Anthony and two nieces, Patricia (William) Dobson and Lisa (Earl) Baxter.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Pope John XXIII Catholic Church, 8290 Soule Road Liverpool, NY followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 am. The Rite of Committal and burial will be private in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
