Eleanor (Bearup) Michaels, 86, of Clay, NY passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, surrounded by her family. Born in Syracuse, NY, she grew up in Eastwood before moving to Liverpool, graduating from Liverpool High School, Class of 1955. Eleanor was a caring soul who enjoyed a 46 year career with ARISE Child and Family Services, retiring in 2019 as an Intake Coordinator. Eleanor was the proud matriarch of her family, which was her main focus in life. She was a loving and generous mother, helping in any way she could. Eleanor was an avid NY Yankees Fan, liked watching Jeopardy, solving crossword puzzles and going shopping. She was a parishioner of Catholic Family of Epiphany Church in Liverpool. She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Arthur B. Michaels, Sr., and her son, AJ Michaels.

Surviving to cherish her memory are three daughters; Susan M. Coyne of Liverpool, NY, Lori (Bob) Czachowski of Clay, NY, Melissa L. Michaels, her son, Larry H. Michaels of Clay, NY, daughter-in-law, Sharon Michaels, five grandchildren; Amy, Brian, Alexandra, Michael and Jamie, six great-grandchildren; Jacob, Katie, Liza, Dayton, Maisie and Adalynn, her sister, Patricia Hickok and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10:30 am in Catholic Family of Epiphany Church, 1001 Tulip St. Liverpool, NY. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.
