Elizabeth "Chips" Betty McCormican, 96, formerly of Liverpool, NY passed away Wednesday at Red Mill Manor in Baldwinsville, NY. She was born in London, England where she was raised and educated. On March 9, 1946, Betty was united in marriage to Donald A. McCormican, a blessed union of 52 years. As a couple they came to the Central New York area and had resided in Liverpool since 1950. She worked as a Customer Service Representative for U.S. Airways in Syracuse, retiring after over 20 years of employment. Betty was always on the go and loved to travel. Her social personality was evident everywhere she went. She loved her home country and was a member of the Overseas Wives' Club through the YWCA and volunteered for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Betty was an active member of Liverpool First United Methodist Church. She is predeceased by her husband, Donald A. McCormican in 1998 and her two brothers, Euan and John Uglow.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Scott V. McCormican of Syracuse, NY, two daughters, Marrilee E. Seidel of Central Square, NY and Donna K. Shoudy of Westvale, NY, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. 300 Second St. Liverpool, NY 13088 with funeral services to follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery next to her husband.
Contributions in Betty's memory can be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation or the Red Mill Manor.
