Elizabeth J. "Betty" Malisa, 97, of Liverpool, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 4, 2023. Betty was born April 28, 1926 in Syracuse, NY and lived in Liverpool for most her life.

Betty was a Communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church where she was a member of The Altar & Rosary Society and The Legion of Mary. She was devoted to Mary and prayed the rosary religiously several times a day.  She was known for her kindness and generosity. Betty was raised in an orphanage and continued her relationship with the Sisters of St. Joseph in Watertown who raised her.

Betty was predeceased by her husband, Steve T. Malisa; her sister, Joanne; a brother, Paul; twin daughters, Mary Ann & Norine Susan; a daughter-in-law, Karen Malisa and a grandson, Kurt Bill.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Thomas E. (Maureen) Malisa of Syracuse, NY, Mary A. (Stephen) Bill of Baldwinsville, NY, Joseph M. (Kim) Malisa of Winter Springs, FL, Stephen M. Malisa of Goodyear, AZ, Paul M. Malisa of Syracuse, NY, and Elizabeth (Michael) Ricci of Liverpool, NY; a brother, Wesley (Stephanie) Shangraw of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Sharon Clark of California; nine grandchildren, Timothy, Christopher, Nicole, Ashley, Stephen, Michael, Mark, Connor & Luke; four great-grandchildren, Thomas, Maverick, Peter & Myles and several nieces & nephews.

Calling hours will be Friday, August 11, 2023 from 9:00am-11:00am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Ave., Liverpool, NY with A Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse, NY.
