Emilio Salvatore Tassone, 81, of Pennellville, NY passed away on Saturday at home with his wife by his side. Born in Syracuse to the late Emilio P. and Catherine A. (Bruzzese) Tassone, Emilio was raised in Liverpool. He graduated from Liverpool High School, Class of 1959 and furthered his studies at University College in Syracuse. Emilio was drafted and entered the US Army, first stationed at Fort Gordon, GA then transferred to Verona, Italy. He was stationed in Passalacqua serving in the 12 ^th Military Police, 68 ^th CID, investigating group. On April 8, 1967, he was united in marriage to the former Peggy J. Woodworth, a blessed union of 55 years. In 1976, Emilio along with his wife opened the Tasswood Bakery & Diner, which is still in operation in Pennellville, NY. He was a true outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. Emilio coached little league baseball and pop warner football and softball. He served as a member of the Schroeppel Town Board and the Phoenix Central School Board.

Surviving to cherish his memory is wife, Peggy J. (Woodworth) Tassone, his children; Tara (Kent) C. Dalpan, Amy C. Cotter and Emilio (Jody) F. Tassone, seven grandchildren; Emilio Joseph, Leianna and Antonio Tassone, Victoria and Christopher Dalpan, Sarah and Julia Cotter, two brothers, Saverio (Karen) Tassone and Nicodemi Tassone, two sisters, Josephine DeMott and Susan Kaljeskie, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 9:30 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Avenue, Liverpool, NY 13088. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
