Esther A. Norton, 99, formerly of Liverpool and North Syracuse, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024.  Esther was born in Hudson, NY and has lived in the Liverpool and North Syracuse areas for the past 54 years.  She graduated at the top of her class from Chatham High School in Chatham, NY, then went on to graduate from Albany Teacher's College and then received her Master's Degree from Syracuse University.  She was a homemaker, and devoted wife and mother to her loving family.  She was a long-time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Liverpool, active with the Plank Road Quilt Guild in Cicero, a teacher, and was a Librarian at the Cicero Public Library.  She was also with the Al-Anon Family support groups.

She is predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Norton and a daughter, Charlotte E. Norton.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Robert L. Norton, of Syracuse and Charles A. (Tanya) Norton, of Boston, MA, a sister, Kathryn Norton of Pensacola, FL.

A calling hour will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10:00 am at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at the Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Esther's memory to ARC of Onondaga, 600 S. Wilbur Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13204.
