Obituary

Frances Ann Burton, 84, of Liverpool, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday at Francis House. She was born in Syracuse, NY, a daughter of the late Anthony and Fanny (Mattarazzo) Calogero. Frances attended Syracuse University receiving her Bachelor of Science in Social Work. She retired after 23 years from Loretto Health & Rehabilitation as a social worker. Frances volunteered at the Spiritual Renewal Center, Jail Ministry of Onondaga County and WCNY. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her two husbands, Joseph Falasco of 19 years in 1983 and William E. Burton of 30 years in 2021, six brothers, Michael, Dominick, Vincent, Samuel, Jerry and Anthony Calogero and four sisters, Theresa, Grace, Angie and Rose.

Above all else, Frances was a person of great faith, which she continued to explore till the end with her weekly bible study group, and delighted in spreading the message of God's unconditional love. She was a proud grandmother, a visual artist, a poet, song writer, and a fiercely competitive card and Scrabble player.  She demonstrated her love through action, offering direction and guidance in times of difficult life transitions to friends and family in need, and was key organizer and decorator of every family reunion and holiday event.

All who have known her have been blessed by her enthusiastic and boundless love. She has left us a guide for living with an open, giving heart, and we are grateful.

Surviving are her son, Carmen "CJ" (Kazumi) Falasco of Liverpool, NY, two granddaughters, Christina and Isabella Falasco, four sisters, Nancy Hart of Houston, TX, Connie (Ostuni) Africa of Liverpool, NY, Joy Constantine of N. Syracuse, NY, Fanny Apps of Camillus, NY and several nieces and nephews.
