June 17, 1949 – March 8, 2022
Frank A. Nicotra, 72 of Liverpool passed away on Tuesday at Upstate University Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he was raised in Liverpool and attended Liverpool High School. At the age of 16, Frank went to work for the United States Postal Service, retiring after 39 years of employment. He also worked at his family's grocery store whenever needed. Frank loved NASCAR and taking trips to see races. He enjoyed traveling, watching sports, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Frank was also a Citizens Band (CB) Operator, whose handle was "Small Change". He had a love for corvettes and built an award winning custom car with his father. He is predeceased by his brother, Carmen J. Nicotra and his father, Victor J. Nicotra.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his mother, Rose (Cirino) Nicotra of Liverpool, NY, two sisters, Marie Rose (Charles W. Kelly) Nicotra of Wampsville, NY and Rose Marie (Jon) LeRoy of Glenville, NY, a nephew, Tyler J. Darby, his uncle, Carmen (Louise) Cirino of Liverpool, NY and several cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Ave, Liverpool, NY 13088. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 10:00 am in church, with the Rite of Committal and burial to follow in Assumption Cemetery.
The Family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Upstate University Hospital, ICU, and palliative care unit for their care and compassion shown to Frank and his family.
