H arold "Lace" E. Lacey, Jr., 88, of Liverpool, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. He was born in Fowler, NY a son of the late Harold and Lucille (Shampine) Lacey, Sr. Harold was raised and educated in Gouverneur, NY, graduating from Gouverneur High School, Class of 1952. Lace enlisted in the U.S. Air Force studying Meteorology at Indiana State University. He was stationed in Japan as a Weather Observer. After serving his country, Lace was employed with Crouse-Hinds in their shipping department for over 40 years, retiring in 1999. On New Year's Eve, 1961 he was united in marriage to the former Vija Kuciers. He was a member and past Treasurer of the IBEW Local 2084 and the Pastime Athletic Club. Harold loved bowling and competed in many local leagues and tournaments his entire life. He enjoyed softball, was an avid SU, NY Giants, and Boston Red Sox fan and had a love for animals. He is predeceased by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Vija K. Lacey of Liverpool, NY, his son, Laurance A. Lacey of Homer, NY, his daughter, Anita E. Lacey of Liverpool, NY, many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. Private spring burial with military honors will take place in Liverpool Village Cemetery.
