Howard E. Towlson, 87 years old, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away peacefully on the evening of November 29, 2023.  Howard was born in Schenectady, NY to Genevieve and Harold Towlson.

Howard graduated from Syracuse Central High School "Central Tech" in Syracuse. Following high school, he attended Syracuse University, where he met Marie Pingitore, his wife of 63 years. In 1958 he received a BS Degree in Chemical Engineering. After graduation he accepted a position at General Electric, got married, began a family, and completed his MS Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1960.

Following in his father's footsteps, he worked at GE for his entire career where he received multiple patent awards for designs related to light valve technology. Howard was a member of the GE Elfun Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).

Anyone that knew Howard knew his passions were providing for his family, fixing and restoring things, and collecting. Howard enjoyed nature through gardening, camping, and bird-watching. He also had an affinity for cats. Howard will be remembered for his wry wit, willingness to help others, and his love of music.  In addition to his parents, Howard is predeceased by his wife Marie, his brother, Paul Towlson and niece, Darleen Scheffel of Rochester NY.

Surviving to hold his memories dear are four daughters; Betsy (David) DeMay of Chugiak, AK, Diane and Susan both of Liverpool, NY, Barb (Bill) Mirch of Windsor, NY; grandchildren; David DeMay, Stephanie DeMay (Wes Glisson), Ryan Mirch and Jared Mirch, sister-in-law, Carol Towlson, nephews; Steven Towlson, Christopher (Susan) Towlson, and Dawn Toner.

A Remembrance and Celebration of Howard's life will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 11:00 am at Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
