Irene Mattie (Jordan) Runnels, 95, of Liverpool passed away Friday at The Hearth at Greenpoint of natural causes. She was born in Somerset, KY. Before moving to Liverpool, Irene had resided in Lake Havasu, AZ. She also lived in Toledo, OH where she met her husband Lee O. Runnels. Irene and Lee adopted their only daughter, Cathy in 1957. Irene was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was an active member of the Clay Community Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lee O. Runnels in 1996 and her daughter, Cathy R. Runnels in 2015.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her two granddaughters, Megan C. Murphy and Kimberlee (Murphy) Statham

Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088. Immediately following the calling hours a funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm.
