Altman
February 9, 1964 – May 4, 2021
James A. Altman, 57 of Baldwinsville, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday. Born and raised in Syracuse, he graduated from Henninger High School. Jim continued his studies earning his Associates degree from Onondaga Community College and finished his education at the University of Buffalo. He was employed as an Architectural Draftsman with Bennetts & Huysman Architects in Manlius, NY. Jim will be remembered for his great sense of humor, upbeat personality, and strong faith. Despite his illness, he had a positive attitude, always willing to help others and people enjoyed being in his company. Jim was a member and advocate for the ALS Association actively fundraising in the CNY area. He was an avid sports fan, whether playing golf or watching his Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Reds. Jim not only helped design but was an active member of Clay Community Church.
Jim was a loving and devoted husband and father. Surviving is his wife of 32 years, Cindy Rainbow-Altman of Baldwinsville, his daughter, Paige C. Altman of Liverpool, four brothers; Norman (Mary Rose) Altman, Jack (Nona) Altman, Steven Altman and David (Pamela) Altman all of Syracuse, three sisters; Linda (Michael) DePietro of Cleveland, OH, Paula (Chuck) Gwynn and Lisa (David) Sampson both of Syracuse, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31, Baldwinsville. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm in Clay Community Church, 8650 Morgan Rd Clay, NY 13041.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the ALS Association Upstate New York Chapter, 135 Old Cove Road, Suite 213, Liverpool, NY 13090.
