James G.
Mckay
April 8, 1959 – November 23, 2019
James G. McKay passed away on Saturday surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Words cannot express the depth of his unwavering love, strength, and resilience. James was an individual who made every decision in his life by putting his family at the forefront. Simply put, he wasn't just a member of our family, he was our family. His passing leaves a hole that can never be filled in the hearts of the many lives he touched.
He was the most devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, neighbor, boss, and friend. The impact that he had on this earth cannot be measured, but will surely be felt in his absence. We will miss his love for the New York Yankees, the Miami Dolphins, the Syracuse Orange, a great steak, and one of his many terrible jokes. Most importantly, we will miss his kind eyes, his warm hugs, and his larger-than-life smile. He was a human calculator, who loyally worked for Raymour and Flanigan Furniture.
Throughout the course of his 35-year career, he ascended from an entry level position to a role as a Senior Executive, and was instrumental in the company's storied growth and success. He was very proud of the company he worked for. The only thing that provided him with more pride was talking about his family.
James is survived and loved unconditionally by his bride of 41 years, Robin (Ulrich) McKay, his four children and their spouses, Kelly (EJ) Lawton, James (Kate) McKay Jr., Christopher (Kailene Dadey) McKay, and Michael (Kaylin) McKay; Six granddaughters, Savannah, Bailey, Kaye, Zoey, Payton, and Mila. He is also survived by his sisters, Eileen, Valerie, Theresa, and Barbara, his brothers, David, Frank and Joe.
