James C. Van Alstine, 95, formerly of Liverpool, NY, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Park Terrace at Radisson. Born on June 11, 1929, Jim grew up in Lyons Falls, NY, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving in the Korean War. On a blind date, Jim met the love of his life, the former Mary Smith. In 1955 they were united in marriage and moved to Liverpool, NY, where they raised three children. Jim enjoyed a long career, retiring from General Electric.

Jim was a true outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, golfing, watching SU sports and spending time with his family. He made friends quickly being a generous, kind, gentle man, who was loved by all. Jim is predeceased by his wife Mary Van Alstine and his grandson, Larry D'Eredita.

Jim is survived by two daughters, Michele D'Eredita and Catherine (Pamela) Miller, his son, James M. Van Alstine, two grandsons, Jarrod (Brandi) D'Eredita,  Daniel (Ashley) Pardee and several great-grandchildren.

In keeping with Jim's wishes, there will be no services.
