Janet M. (Griffith) Sugrue, 90, passed away on Tuesday at Upstate University Hospital. Born July 26, 1934 in Syracuse, NY, she was a life-long resident of Liverpool, NY and a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Jan was the heart of the family, a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was always there when we needed her, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance. A cherished friend too many, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Jack in 2000, her son, Thomas in 2017, daughter-in-law, Nancy in 2019 and her sister, Diana Meyers in 2021.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Gary (Cynthia) Sugrue, John (Dawn) Sugrue Jr., Donald Sugrue, Michael (Sandy) Sugrue of Seminole Florida, Doreen (Tony) Russo, Lesley Sugrue and daughter-in-law, Candie Sugrue, her 16 grandchildren; John, Dennis, Brian, Tia, Terry, Nick, TJ, Jason, Christopher, Marc and Matthew Sugrue, Laurie Predmore-Ashworth, Stacy Dugan, Jennifer Quinn, Heather Caceres and Michael Russo, 24 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second St. Liverpool, NY 13088. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 10:00 am in Catholic Family of Epiphany Church, 1001 Tulip St. Liverpool, NY 13088. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Liverpool Fire Department, 1110 Oswego St., Liverpool NY 13088.
