Jean R. Spiegel, 99, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025.  Jean was born in Freeport, Long Island to the late Theodore and Sadie (Beere) Combs where she was raised and educated. She later moved to Oceanside with her husband where she was a homemaker and very active in her church before relocating to the Syracuse area in 2010.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph D. Spiegel and brothers, Theodore and Donald Combs.

Surviving are her three sons, Joseph (Terri) Spiegel of Liverpool, James (Mary) Spiegel of Kalamazoo, MI, Jonathan (Rebecca) Spiegel of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Janet (Josef) Podnecky of Bridgewater Corners, VT; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A calling hour will be on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second St., Liverpool, NY with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse, NY.
