Jean Allanson Straub, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. She was born and raised in Phoenix, NY, before moving with her husband George to Liverpool, NY. Jean was a guidance counselor and elementary school teacher in the Liverpool Central Schools for more than 30 years. Jean played Bridge at the Corinthian Club, volunteered with both Syracuse Stage and Syracuse Symphony, spent summers at the family's cottage on Chaumont Bay, and enjoyed hot air ballooning with Bob & Marie. Jean loved to travel to Myrtle Beach, was a cruise connoisseur, and an avid SU fan. Jean loved the game show network, playing Bingo to win, eating too many sweets to mention, and loved to sip an occasional Irish Mist. Jean is predeceased by her husband, George and her sister, Neva Bibko.

Jean was fiercely devoted to her family and will be fondly remembered by her sons, Joe (Paula) and David (Sue); her grandchildren, Katie (Ryan) Carmody, Matthew (Jordan) Straub, Lizzie, Thomas, Brandon, Bryan, and Erin Straub; and her great grandson, Callan Michael Carmody. She loved to spend time with her many nieces and nephews too.

Private services will be Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088 with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt, NY.
