Joan A. (Thurstin) Hill, 86, formerly of Liverpool, NY passed away on Monday at St. Luke's Residential Health Care Facility in Oswego, NY.  She was born in DeGrasse, NY, daughter of the late Arda J. and Grace (Allen) Thurstin. Joan graduated from Knox Memorial High School and continued her studies attending business school. On June 18, 1955 she was united in marriage to Ronald L. Hill, a blessed union of 43 years. Joan was constantly taking courses to keep up to date on her career as a Real Estate Broker. As a Realtor, she enjoyed helping families find new homes for nearly 40 years, representing several local agencies. Joan was generous and loved doing nice things for people, often sharing her homemade custard or other wonderful homemade treats with anyone in need. She kept company with ladies like herself, a close circle of devoted friends who checked on her welfare often. Joan loved her family and friends, her books, her occasional glass of wine, her peppermint ice cream and a good laugh. An avid reader, Joan went through so many romance novels, it became difficult to find a book for her that she hadn't read. After the passing of her husband, Ronnie, she volunteered for Hospice. Joan was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Church. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her daughter, Pamela K. Hill and her grandson, Steven Lavine.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Jeffrey (Georgette) S. Hill of Pulaski, NY, her daughter, Susan (Bradley) S. Foil of N. Syracuse, NY, three grandchildren, Tamera, James and Joshua, five great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and her nephew, Daniel Hill.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville, NY 13027. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 11:00 am in St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Church, 3494 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville, NY 13027. The Rite of Committal and burial will be private in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
