Joan B. (Baker) Salanger, 84, of Baldwinsville, NY, passed away on Friday surrounded by her family at home. She was born on Friday, October 21, 1938, daughter of the late Ernest and Marjorie Baker of Norwich, NY.  Joan graduated from Sherburne Central School, class of 1956.  She was employed at NBT of Norwich, Mutual of Omaha Insurance at Hancock International Airport. Joan later retired from USAIR reservations after 25 years of service.

Joan, her husband, James and their two children; Jimmer and Jeffrey moved to Baldwinsville, NY in 1974.  She was a former member of the Spirit of Syracuse Chorus.  In addition to singing, Joan enjoyed traveling and shopping, but most of all baking cookies for all the holidays with her grandchildren and decorating for Halloween and Christmas.  She Cherished her children especially her grandchildren.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, James F. Salanger, her 2 sons; James F. (Shauna) Salanger, II of Huntersville, NC and Jeffery M. (Stephanie) Salanger of Liverpool, NY, 3 grandchildren; Kathleen Victoria, Emily Veronica and Owen James, 2 sisters; Jacqueline Harp of Vernon, NY and Jillene (Wayne) Bunn of Beaver Falls, PA, Sister-in-law, Mary Salanger and several Nieces and Nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Maurer Funeral Home, Moyers Corners, 3541 State Route 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.
