Joey L. Vanterpool, 84, of Liverpool, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025.  Joey was born in Dominica in the West Indies and moved from Maryland to Liverpool, NY where he has resided for the past 19 years.  While in his home country, he worked as the Editor and Chief of the Chronicle Newspaper in Dominica. Joey was also an English Teacher at St. Mary's Academy and was a Special Constable for the Prime Minister of Dominica.  Joey was a U.S. Army Veteran where he served as a Medic.  He retired from the Shoreham North Condominiums in Washington, D.C where he worked as the Property Manager.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years Sonia; his children, Bernard (Jackie) Vanterpool and Melissa (Neville) Forde of Liverpool; grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Jasmyn, Sydney and Jayden; great-granddaughter, Harlow; brother, Peter Vanterpool; sister, Shirley Vanterpool; nephews, Brian, Peter Jr., Joey, Fitzroy and Irwin and nieces, Michele and Ann.

Calling hours will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt. 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027, with funeral services at 12:00 pm. The Rite of Committal and Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Mausoleum, Baldwinsville, NY.
