John J. Kowalczyk, Jr., 67, of Clay, NY passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021.  He was born in Syracuse, NY and was a US Air Force Veteran of Desert Storm.  He retired in 2008 after 37 years with the 174 ^th Air National Guard.  He was a member of Remsen American Legion Post #982.  He was a communicant of Pope John XXIII and spent his retirement traveling all over the world with his wife, Kathleen. He is predeceased by his father, John J. Kowalczyk, Sr.

John is survived by his wife, Kathleen J. (Tubbert) Kowalczyk of 47 years; daughter, Kristen (Daniel) Orlando of Brewerton; son, John (Larissa) Kowalczyk, III of Clarence Center, NY; mother, Anna Kowalczyk of Liverpool; sisters, Diane (Peter) Cosser of Mattydale and Karen Szczesniak of Liverpool and seven grandchildren, Connor, Colin & Kyle Orlando, John IV, Jada, Jaclyn & Jacob Kowalczyk and many nieces & nephews.

A calling hour will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, February 6, 2021 in Pope John XXIII Catholic Church, 8290 Soule Road, Liverpool followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am with Military Honors.  The Rite of Committal and burial will be private in Assumption, Syracuse, NY.   Face masks are required, social distancing and gathering guidelines will be followed. The Mass will be live streamed at PopeJohnXXIIILiverpool on YouTube.
